  1. Linda says:

I am a 70 yr old single female looking to move to a warm climate like Florida. The west coast appeals to me, but I also noticed there are not many Asians there. From recent DNA testing (and family stories) I learned I am 50% Chinese, 10% Southeast Asian, 20% African and 20% Northwestern European (mainly Irish and English) and yes people often think I am a Latina. The one thing that I hope I can resolve if I move to Florida is how do I get good Asian vegetables (more than just bok choy)! You see, I am on a special diet and eat lots of leafy green veggies. Spinach, bok choy and broccoli rabe are good but more choices would be better!

So there are a couple of small mom and pop Vietnamese grocery stores around in Fort Lauderdale and Miami. I found the items to be on the higher side from what I was used to but with few Asians, they don’t have to be as competitive. On the West Coast, I think you’re going to have to be creative. Sorry!
